Hello my lovely people,
I genuinely cannot believe we are already at the halfway point of the year. Every time I sit down to write to you I have this moment of “wait, how?” and then I just lean into it.
Earlier this year, I went to Las Vegas to attend WPPI, one of the world’s most influential photography conferences. It was such an inspiring experience, surrounded by some of the most respected photographers working today.
One of the highlights of my trip was attending a workshop led by the remarkable photographer Annie Leibovitz. The workshop focused on women—how we see them, photograph them, and, most importantly, how we make them feel.
During the workshop, Annie shared a thought that stopped me in my tracks: Susan Santag once said “Men could always be seen. But women are been looked at.” I have not been able to stop thinking about those words.
As women, we are often judged by how we appear. We are looked at, evaluated, compared, and measured. But being truly seen is something entirely different. To be seen is to be understood, valued, acknowledged, and celebrated for who we are beneath the surface.
That message resonated deeply with me because it perfectly reflects why I became a photographer in the first place. I am in demand never simply because I create beautiful portraits. My mission is to help women feel seen.
Seen for their strength.
Seen for their stories.
Seen for their resilience.
Seen for the life they have lived and the person they have become.
Every woman who steps in front of my camera carries a unique story. Whether she is a mother, a business owner, a leader, a creator, or simply a woman navigating life’s many chapters, she deserves to be seen.
They say behind ever female entrepreneur is a girl who couldn’t find what she wanted, so she built it.
Ta-da! Here I am , camera in hand!
Thank you for being here. It means more than you know
Love,
Jindi
