Session fee includes pre-session consultation and booking in person or by phone, your portrait session with our photographers’ talent, post-session processing and preparation of your images.A private viewing/ordering appointment at our studio 2-3 weeks after the photo session.

How long is the photo session?

Session fee covers up to 2 hours photo shoot with our photographer in studio shooting. It usually takes around 60-90 mins for a photo session. Please allow longer for big families or for a newborn photo session as the baby may need to breastfeed or nap.

Can I customize my session?

Absolutely! Whether it’s a specific theme, location or concept you have in mind, let’s work together to create images that feels uniquely yours.

How much does it cost?

Everyone spends a different amount on their artwork, depending on how many photos they fall in love with, what sizes they choose and whether they choose frames, canvas, or folio boxes.

The photo session lasts up to 2 hours and costs $220. Once you’ve had your photo session our framed wall art start from $650.  Digital packages start from $800/4 images.

We know you will absolutely LOVE your photos so we recommend you allow a minimum of $1,800 for your photo/wall art frames order.  For a detailed price list please contact the studio.

Where are you based, and do you travel for sessions?

We are based in Sydney, Australia, with a boutique studio located in Gladesville NSW 2111

We specialise in studio lighting portraiture, however we do shoot on location as client’s request.

We’re happy to travel to locations around Sydney. If you are outside Sydney, let’s chat, and we can work something out! Travel fees can be discussed during the booking process.

When should I book newborn session?

It is better to be 2-3 months before your due date. But as we all know, it is hard to schedule the exact time. You can reschedule if your baby is due earlier or later than expected. To ensure the quality of photos, we have the limitation on the number of the newborn session we take every week. So you need to plan the time ahead for the photo session.

The best time to photograph a newborn baby is within the first 5–14 days after birth.

We do offer variety props and outfits you could choose to use in the photo. The session fee includes unlimited access to our prop collections.

Is it a safe choice to photograph newborn baby?

We understand your concerns. Our photographer have up-to-date whooping cough and COVID vaccinations. Our studio is fully insured. The temperature in our studio is set to perfect for the newborn. You and your family’s safety and health is our main priority.

What’s the best timing for maternity session?

The best timing to take maternity photos is when you are 27-32 weeks. At this period, your belly has the most beautiful curve, and you are not as tired as when you are over 32 weeks. If you want to take the maternity session after 32 weeks, it’s up to your energy level.

What’s the best age to photograph my children?

We recommend that in the first year you photograph your baby at least twice to capture the incredible range of growth.  Our sweet spots are between 8-15 days old for their sleepy newborn shots, 6 months old for their baby studio shots and 12months old for chubby, smiley, sweet shots.  But anywhere in between is good too – the only age to avoid is 4-8 weeks old as baby is usually pimply and often unsettled during this period.

Children 1-5yrs old, photograph them every 12-18months.

After 5 years old every 2-3 years.

If you manage to document your children regularly throughout the early years of their lives you will capture many beautiful stages of their development and have a treasure trove of memories to look back on as they grow.

How often should I update my headshots?

Professionals should update their headshots every one or two years, as a general rule—but any time you change your look, you need new headshots. You should get new headshots any time you: Cut your hair more than a few inches; Dye your hair a different color; Gain or lose a significant amount of weight.

What should I wear for the photo session?

Wear something that you feel comfortable and confident in and that reflects your personality. Hats, jewellery, accessories can look fantastic in photos, bring along your favourites. Please bring 2 changes of clothing per person. One dark option and one lighter option. Try to avoid loud patterns, stripes or large logos.

Children’s favourite toys to help them smile.

Any props you would like in their photos that reflect their personality (ie soccer balls, musical instruments, etc)

How do we order our photos and prints?

We schedule a purchasing appointment to take place a few days after your photo session.  This is your time to view and order your photos and we will guide you through the selection process and design options.

We recommend that all key decision makers are present as payment is required on the day.  Please take a look around your home and make a mental picture of where you would hang images you fall in love with. We recommend that you take some measurements of your available wall space at home so you have an idea what size to order your favourite photographs. It’s so helpful to have this knowledge during the purchasing appointment when you are making important decisions that will last you for many years.

Do I get all the photos on a USB stick or download link?

This isn’t something we offer. Some photographers may transfer all the photos taken on the day onto a USB stick, but its highly unlikely they will be the high calibre of image that we provide. We carefully create, retouch and edit our photos so each one is a work of art. We believe it’s better to have 10 incredible images up around your house instead of 100 mediocre USB images that never see the light of day.

How long does it take to get the photos?

We know you will love your photos and we aim to get them to you within 2-3 weeks.  If you have ordered an album or portrait box this can take 3-4 weeks longer for manufacture and shipping. Our albums and wall arts are all hand Made in Australia and hand Made in Italy.

If it’s an urgent request, please let us know during the booking process. We can provide same day/next day delivery.

Are pets welcome?

We absolutely love to photograph your pets with your family if you would like to bring them along.

What if I don’t like my photos?

All photo sessions come with a guarantee that if you don’t love the photos we create, then we will photograph you again. This however happens very rarely – its usually if a child or baby is crying or is not well, in which case we will organise a reshoot.

Do you speak other language?

In addition to English, I also speak Chinese Mandarin fluently.

Do you provide a service for hair and makeup?

We’ve got you covered! Optional professional hair & makeup services are available in-studio — so you can relax, feel pampered, and look your absolute best for your photoshoot.

Do you photography weddings?

Our photography experiences mostly take place in our studios. We do not photograph weddings, however many brides actually bring in their wedding dress to capture the essence of the day in studio style (without the stress on the wedding day!). You may also wish to have this studio session with your bridal party. Find our bridal portraits here.

What is the difference between My Tiny Universe Photography and Jindi Li Portraits watermarks?

You may notice that some of our photographs carry different watermarks. My Tiny Universe Photography is the name of our studio and represents the broader body of work created under the studio, including family, children, maternity, and special sessions. Jindi Li Portraits, on the other hand, is my personal artistic signature and is used specifically for my portrait work. Images marked with this watermark reflect a more refined, portrait-focused style that represents my personal vision as a portrait artist. Both come from the same studio and the same care in craftsmanship—the different watermark simply reflects the artistic category of the work.
