Hello my lovely people,

My Tiny Universe Photography has been nominated for the local business award, again!

Back to 2017, the early days this business operation was look like:

• editing photos at midnight
• surviving on long black coffee
• saying “DON’T TOUCH THAT LIGHT” every 14 minutes
• and negotiating with two tiny CEOs – 3 years old and 1 year old.

Now, I have been thinking very seriously about what I would say if I won.

Most people thank their supportive family, their team, their community…

And yes, of course I’d thank my boys for growing up alongside this business. They’ve watched me build this whole thing between school pickups, client galleries, creative meltdowns, and making them dinner.

They’ve been part of the chaos from the very beginning.

BUT this business was never for them.

I did for 100% for me. Not them.

I needed the creative outlet like I needed air to breathe.

This business is…

• For the version of me that wanted to create something beautiful.
• For the woman who needed something that belonged to herself.
• For the artist trying to build a life that felt meaningful, creative, exhausting, and alive.
• For a life where the bills get paid, my kids feel safe and loved, and I still get to remain myself in the process.

My kids just happened to witness it all from the front row.

And honestly, I think there’s something important in that.
Sometimes the best thing we can do for our children is let them see us become fully ourselves.

And honestly, that might be the thing I’m most proud of.

Not the award.
Not the title.
Not even the business itself.

Just the fact that we made it this far with love, resilience, chaos, and probably far too much chocolates.

So whether I win or not, thank you for being part of this journey.

Every booking, every kind word, every recommendation — you’ve helped this small business of mine to keep growing.

And that means more than you know.
